Barrack Obama Elected 44th President Of The United States

Greetings Evreyone History was made last night as Barrack Obama swept to victory last night as he was elected the 44th President Of The United States and The first African American. Obama was a a little known state Senator just 4 years ago when he spoke in 2004 at the Democratic Convention. His Canidacy was always considered a long shot against such heavyweights as Hillary Clinton who tryed to become the first female President and John Mccain who eventually became his Republican challenger. Throughout the 21 month campaign both John Mccain and Obama both told voters that they would take the country in a different direction than it has been going in the last eight years under George Bush. Mccain a vietnam Vetran and P.O.W Is a 26 year Senator of Az who cast himself as a maverick who had the expierence to be Commander in Chief and That his oppent did not. Obama linked Mccain to the very unpopular Bush saying that a vote for Mccain was a vote for Bush. In the end Obama,s message of change resonated with voters and many of the red states that have long been Republican turned Blue. At 11pm Eastern time Obama claimed a sweeping victory after he claimed Pennsylvania and Ohio and had 349 electoral votes well over the 270 needed. Mccain conceed and offered his help in the new administration saying that it will take all of us to help turn this country around and get it on the right track. Obama gave his acceptance speech in Grant Park Chicago later that night to an estimated 500.00 people and said that his victory did not belong to him but to the people who had been with him in the last 21 months who had believed in him and that the work ahead of him would be tough and that it might not get done in one year or even one term. Obama faces extraordinary challenges as this country is in the midst of the worst financial crisis since the great depression and with two wars going on in Afghanistan and Iraq and it will definitely be intresting to see what will transpire over the next 4 years. I personally have full confidence in what he wants to do and i look forward to a time of renewed prosperity in this country. After the last eight years of failed policies and the constitution being trampled on i do believe that this country needs to change and that Barrack Obama will bring that change we so desperately need.
